French gambling regulator ANJ has replaced three of its nine-board members, but retained Isabelle Falque Pierrotin as president. Éliane Houlette, Mario Blaise and Wilfried Sand-Zantman have left the board, to be replaced by Thomas de Ricolfis, Jean-Pierre Couteron and Isabelle Bordry. De Ricolfis is a deputy director at the financial crime department of the French police, Courteron is an addiction treatment expert and Bordry is a data protection executive. The board remains at 50/50 gender parity following the reshuffle.
The UK Gambling Commission has reappointed John Baillie and Catharine Seddon as commissioners until 2024. Baillie is a former KPMG partner and accountancy professor, while Seddon is a former documentary filmmaker and has acted as a non-executive for various UK regulators for the past 14 years.
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has appointed former journalist and political spokesperson Greg Swift as its director of communications and corporate affairs. Swift had been serving as the head of news and press secretary to the foreign secretary in the UK government.
After a decade at online gambling giant bet365, Jon Moss has ended his tenure as the head of international development at the company. He returns to the helm of his own advisory firm, 34 Consulting.
Gambling platform provider Sportingtech has selected Paul Jerram as its new head of compliance, having most recently served five years at Sporting Group as its head of internal audits and standards.

Caesars Entertainment has appointed Matt Sunderland to the position of senior vice president of iGaming. Most recently, Sunderland served as vice president of gaming for BetMGM, where he oversaw iGaming launches in several states. Prior to BetMGM, Sunderland was an iGaming consultant for GVC and MGM Resorts International.
Chris Wilson has joined the Washington State Gambling Commission (WSGC) as its deputy director. Wilson joins WSGC after serving as the senior military advisor to the adjunct general of the Alaska National Guard and the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
The WSGC also announced that interim assistant Gary Drumheller has been promoted to permanent status as the commission’s assistant director. Drumheller will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s operational units, including licensing, regulation, enforcement, tribal gaming, and the electronic gaming lab.
Fanatics, an online sports-apparel and retailer, has hired Jason White as its chief marketing officer for its sports-betting brand, Fanatics Betting and Gaming. White has held similar positions at MTV and Beats, and in his new role plans to use its customer database of 90m to grow its sports-betting business.

Australian casino operator The Star Entertainment Group’s acting CEO Geoff Hogg has tendered his resignation from the post and all other Star positions, according to a company filing with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on September 26. The latest casualty of a New South Wales state regulatory review into Star Entertainment misconduct, Hogg has yet to confirm his date of departure. Star interim chairman Ben Heap will act as executive chairman until pending CEO and managing director Robbie Cooke takes up his posts.
To upgrade compliance at its Queensland state properties, Star Entertainment has also appointed industry veteran Zhan Spalding to the new post of general manager of surveillance. Spalding previously worked for SkyCity Entertainment group in Auckland and Darwin, for Aspers Group in London, and for Tilley Entertainment in Prague and Moscow, among other gaming posts.
Star rival Crown Resorts has announced that former Marina Bay Sands and Sands China executive Mark McWhinnie will replace Simon McGrath as CEO of the Crown Sydney property, according to a September 15 statement. McWhinnie will commence work on October 4. He is a former Sands China colleague of fellow Blackstone Group appointee Ciarán Carruthers, who has just begun work as Crown Resorts CEO.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s (HKJC) Board of Stewards has elected Michael T.H. Lee as chairman and Eric Li Ka Cheung as deputy chairman for the 2022-2023 racing year at its AGM on September 8. Lee is a HKJC steward and director of several companies and has a sports and disabled sports governance background. Lee replaces Philip Chen, who stepped down after two years. The AGM also appointed lawyer and industry regular Jackson Woo Ka Biu, former Bank of China (Hong Kong) deputy CEO Ann Kung Yeung Yun Chi, and former HSBC group general manager Anita Fung Yuen Mei as stewards to replace outgoing board members.
Australian slot machine manufacturer Ainsworth Game Technology has appointed Lynn Mah as CFO, effective January 1 next year, according to an ASX filing on September 30. Mah moves up from the position of group finance manager and replaces Mark Ludski after 22 years in the post. Ludski will retain his company secretary role.
New Zealand casino and online gaming operator SkyCity Entertainment Group has promoted SkyCity Malta managing director Steve Salmon to its senior leadership team, according to an ASX filing on September 12. UK-based Salmon, who heads the company’s online interests, “was instrumental in the development and launch of the SkyCity Online Casino in 2019”, the filing said.
Konami Australia said on September 12 that it had elevated David Punter to operations manager for sales, marketing and service for Australasia and the Asia-Pacific region. Punter started work with Konami in 2017.
SJM Holdings chairman Daisy Ho has expanded her authority in the SJM stable amid Macau’s casino concession tender by taking over as managing director of SJM Resorts, the subsidiary that holds the group’s concession. She replaces fellow industry heavyweight Angela Leong as the subsidiary’s representative, suggesting further consolidation of power by Ho and her sister Pansy Ho, who controls parent company STDM.

LeoVegas Group has appointed Silvia Cecchia as the country manager for Brazil and Latin America. Cecchia spent the previous seven years at Betsson, her last role was as the head of CRM global promotions. Prior to that she worked at William Hill as the Italian territory manager.
Celeste Arredondo is the new country director for Peru at Pragmatic Play. Arredondo has an abundance of local experience, serving as a product manager for the likes of Quinobet, Solbet and Chaskibet.
