UK Football Sponsor Row Erupts As TV Doc Calls For Radical Rethink

British football’s complex relationship with betting advertising and sponsorship was in the spotlight again yesterday after fans of Norwich City hit out at the club’s deal with gambling firm BK8.

The move to sign up the Asian-facing firm as its main shirt sponsor, which will significantly bolster the newly-promoted club’s finances, comes amid the UK government review of the 2005 Gambling Act, including assessing regulations around sports sponsorship and advertising at live events.
