Fixed-odds betting turnover across World Lottery Association (WLA) members grew by 34 percent to around US$55.8bn in 2018, driven by more than $10bn of incremental betting activity in China alone and supported by higher volumes in Latin America and Africa.
Fixed-odds betting turnover across African members of the World Lottery Association more than doubled between 2015 and 2017 to US$334.5m, driven by emerging football-orientated products in the western trio of Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Mali.
